During my career I have worked in New Zealand and Australia for multinational express courier companies, international freight forwarders, third party logistics organisations and domestic transport providers. I held a variety of roles in operations, customer service, sales and management functions.

Through my time in these industries I have also developed an in depth understanding of importers, exporters, manufacturing, supply chain, warehousing, airline and shipping line operations and associated industries.

It became obvious there was a need for quality recruitment solutions provided by people with specialist skills and knowledge of the industry. As a result of this demand I established ImpEx Personnel. I work with a high quality and dedicated team of people with similar and complimentary backgrounds in the industries we service.

One of the functions I particularly enjoy is working with clients to define and deliver high quality permanent, temporary and contract recruitment solutions

During my career, I have been very fortunate to work in various areas of the Freight and Logistics industry, which I am very passionate about.

I have worked for an International Express Courier, Importer of FMCG products within the food and pharmaceutical industry, a large Exporter, and Global International Freight Forwarders. The positions held have been in Key Account Management, Customer Service Management, International and Local Purchasing, Shipping and Exporting specialising in the Asian markets.

When I decided on a career change, I joined ImpEx Personnel who specialise in International Transport and Logistics Recruitment. Given my vast knowledge and experience within the industry it made sense to move into this area of business. Over the past 6 years, I have thoroughly enjoyed working with clients and candidates. Being able to relate well to their business requirements whilst keeping in touch with the industry as a whole has been very rewarding in the recruitment of temporary, contract and permanent placements.

I joined the freight industry in 2000 and have been exposed to the domestic and international forwarding market. When working for an international freight forwarder I progressed through the business in various roles and trained as a customs broker. I was managing key accounts with various importing commodities.

I joined ImpEx Personnel in 2006 and really enjoy providing temporary, contract and permanent recruitment solutions to new and existing clients. Having worked in the industry I am recruiting for has given me the ability to really understand client and candidate requirements and identify talented individuals with core skill sets. I find interacting with various people and learning about businesses rewarding in my role.

Having worked in the Recruitment Industry for some 10+ years in UK and NZ, my career started in the UK where I specialized in Temporary Labour for the Catering and Industrial job space before emigrating to NZ back in 2001. My passion for recruitment continued with my knowledge and expertise spanning across FMCG, Freight forwarding and 3PL businesses. I have held a variety of positions both based on site as a Consultant an of course more traditionally office based as a Senior Consultant, Operations Manager and of course my current role as a Labour Hire Manager.

I have a passion for ensuring both our candidates and clients receive a service that is second to none, without either of these two parties I would not have the opportunities I currently have. Having worked with high volume clients supplying 100+ temporary / casual staff and the smaller clients that only want 1 or two staff, I have learnt that the fundamentals are the same LISTEN and HEAR what the true requirements are from both ends of the spectrum.

One of the most rewarding aspects of working in recruitment is seeing the pieces of the puzzle slowly fit and become one, as both business and personal relationships blossom between myself, ImpEx Blue, candidate and client as we all strive to deliver the same thing a high quality service from the ground up.

I have worked in the recruitment industry on and off since 2005 both in South Africa and New Zealand, supporting the recruitment process in many different industries including Logistics, Construction, Accountancy and Finance, Office Support and Labour Hire.
